That’s right, Saudi Arabia‘s flynas is launching seasonal once-a-week flights between the Saudi capital Riyadh (RUH) and Podgorica, Montenegro (TGD). This is the first time the two cities have been connected by a non-stop flight.
Every Thursday up to 1 September, flight XY355 will go non-stop from Riyadh to Podgorica, leaving at 15:30 and landing at 19:35.
However, the return trip has a short layover in Tirana, Albania (TIA), although no change of plane is required. So, flight XY356 is scheduled to depart from Podgorica at 20:25, and land in Tirana at 21:15. After a 50-minute transfer, the flight leaves Tirana at 22:05, and lands in Riyadh at 03:50 in the following morning.
In 2013, I spent about one week in Montenegro, visiting the seaside hotspot of Bar, the stunning castle town Kotor, known for its striking limestone cliffs and views of the Bay of Kotor, and the Montenegrin capital Podgorica.
I believe Podgorica is best viewed as a base from which to travel to other parts of that beautiful country; there’s a good bus system throughout Montenegro, but expect summer traffic!
