Some disappointing lounge news from Hong Kong — the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club HKG will very shortly be closing up shop.

Not only was Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club HKG the sole international Chase Sapphire offering, but it also allowed in Priority Pass Select users without, for example, being limited to 1x/year as the United States lounges do. Nevertheless, it is closing on January 5th, 2026.

In spite of the surly local staff (no surprise there), I liked being able to disappear into a forlorn corner of the lounge to people-watch, and never having to wait to get in. Indeed, that latter point can’t be said for the apparent darling of HKG’s non-airline choices, the Kyra Lounge.

With this spot getting the kibosh, that leaves the aforementioned Kyra Lounge, and the rubbish Plaza Premium outings (which coincidentally are rarely anywhere near my gate) available to Priority Pass card holders. I can hear the world’s smallest violin now.
n.b. for when there’s not enough time to lounge hop, and you’re looking for a newfangled Hong Kong snack, visit Slowood; once you leave immigration, it’s quite close by.
